Symptom
When using the Image/Custom Mode of the map, there may be instances in which the map pin/tooltip won't display where it should be on the map image that you're using. This may still happen despite saving the correct address of a map location.
Explanation
Since map images don't support addresses, a map pin/tooltip may not always point at the exact/correct location within the map image that you uploaded.
Resolution
You will need to reposition the map pin so it's aligned with your Map Image. When setting up a Map Location and when you're on custom/image mode, a preview of the image used in the map settings will appear so you can see where to place your location.
Below are the steps on how you can manually adjust the map pin within your map image.
- Within the Map Locations section, choose the required location.
- Scroll down to the 'Locate Address on the map' field, enter the complete location address, then hit ENTER.
- If the map pin is not displayed correctly on the map, you can drag it to the correct location on your map image. Don't worry, repositioning the pin will not change your saved address in the 'Locate Address' field!
- Once the pin is adjusted, click 'Update' to save the changes.
