# Symptoms

You have a valid MapifyPro API key, but it prompts you to verify your key. When entering a valid API key, it consistently shows an inactive status.

This is a known issue that can be resolved by following a specific workaround.

# Resolution

To fix the issue, please follow these steps:

1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard (wp-admin).

2. Navigate to **Settings** and then select **MapifyPro Verification**.

3. Deactivate and then activate MapifyPro**.**

4. In the **API Key Deactivation** section:

>Select the box to deactivate API Key.
>Click **Save Changes**.

5. In the **API Key Activation** section:

>Ensure that your API Key is displayed (it should still be present).

>Click Save Changes.

6. The **API Key Status** should now indicate "*Verified*."
